Norman Trotman Instrumental Competition results

This year’s Trotman Final which took place in BYMT on Saturday 28 January,  in the presence of Norman Trotman's two daughters along with local dignitaries and BYMT  Trutees, was an evening of exceptional quality music making from the seven finalists.

The adjudicator, Mr James Sleigh, viola professor at the Royal Academy of Music, had an unenviable task of selecting the top three from such outstanding, professional performances. The performers in order of appearance were –

Kieran Crowley – Percussion

Joshua Rapley – Cello

Anna Crawford – Piano

Ying Lo – Violin

Lisa Archontides-Tsaldaraki – Violin

Anna Crawford – Cello

Iona Duncan – Harp

Talia Berre – Flute

After commenting briefly on each performance, Mr Sleigh awarded the 2017 Trotman Trophy to this year’s winner, Iona Duncan. In 2nd place was Kieran Crowley and 3rd place Joshua Rapley.
