The clarinet is a single reed instrument in the woodwind family. It has a long, rich history as an orchestral and chamber instrument as well as being very important in modern repertoire such as jazz and music for films. By playing the clarinet you would have the opportunity to play in a variety of ensembles both in school and at BYMT.
When looking to play the clarinet you need to consider the following
Do you have your second set of front teeth?
Are your hands big enough to span the keys of the clarinet?
Can you support the weight of the clarinet yourself?
All of these questions can be answered by organising a tryout with the specialist clarinet teacher at your school
