The Ukulele Club, run by Amanda Fathers, is a fun and friendly group, who meet once a week. We enjoy strumming to songs, learning different chords and strumming patterns but also make progress through practicing elements of the RGT ukulele exam syllabus, including TAB music and simple standard notation.
Resources used are varied and include play-along videos and backing tracks as well as sheet music and chord sheets. These are provided and accessible for use electronically (on a tablet, phone or laptop) to practice at home.
Repertoire is chosen to aid progress but is also influenced by the group. Is there a song or piece you’ve always wanted to play but don’t know how? Why not suggest it and we’ll see if we can, or if it’s complicated, we’ll simplify it and slow it down so we can work at it?
Come along and try a taster session. Ukuleles may be available to borrow on request. Advice on buying a ukulele can be given at the group.
